KIPP School

Houston

When KIPP Inc. set out to build a public school on 18 acres of vacant land in Houston, it turned to KUO for its civil engineering expertise.

KUO provided engineering designs for pavement around the school, as well as left- and right-turn lanes – involving the City of Houston and the Texas Department of Transportation – for roadways giving access to the site. The scope of work also included stormwater drainage and detention design for the $11 million project.

In addition, KUO conducted hydrology and hydraulic analyses, considering both 2-year and 100-year rainfall events in connecting the storm drainage outfall to Houston’s public storm sewer system.
